On November 15, 2011, the U.S. Patent Office issued Patent Number 8,056,196 to the U.S. Government for a Quick Release Fitting. The named inventors are Angela Sample of Lexington Park, Maryland, and three members of Survival Innovations, Inc.--Jason Smith, Leon Rhodes, and Gary Bradley. The Quick Release Fitting relates to a restraint system developed by the U.S. Navy and Survival Innovations under a support contract.
