3-D Printer Expands Design Capabilities
Survival Innovations has added 3D Printing to the stable of design tools.
The new printer increases the capability of our engineering staff by allowing in-house prototyping of experimental design concepts for rapid review and analysis, thereby decreasing Survival Innovations’ legendary customer-response time.
The fused-deposition modeling device has a layer resolution of 100 microns on a heated aluminum build platform. The dual-extrusion nozzles precision is 11 microns with a vertical precision of 2.5 microns using a nozzle diameter of 0.4 millimeters. Control of heating and cooling on the super-flat build plate helps prevent shrinking and cracking and allows for smooth-to-the-touch models. In addition, the printer is capable of printing in either ABS or PLA plastics.
